Developed through Boston Playwrights’ Theatre’s New Play Incubator program, “(re)Dressing Miss Havisham” reimagines one of literature’s most iconic figures through a contemporary investigative frame. Miranda, an unmarried actor in her 40s with a background in criminology, takes on the role of Charles Dickens’ Miss Havisham with a singular mission: to solve the cold case of Havisham’s death.
What begins as a literary inquiry quickly deepens into a layered exploration of identity, autonomy and the portrayal of women—both in Dickens’ life and on the page. As Miranda moves between characters, employing forensic analysis, research and even a “murder board,” the line between performer and subject begins to blur. When the trail of evidence runs cold, it is Miss Havisham herself who emerges to confront long-buried truths—forcing both women to reckon with questions of independence, fulfillment and what it means to live fully on one’s own terms.
Notes on parking: Metered street parking is available along Commonwealth Avenue and some nearby streets. A small number of free visitor spaces are available across the street in Brookline (e.g., Pleasant Street), but availability is very limited, so allow extra time if searching for free parking. The closest and most convenient option is the parking garage beneath Agganis Arena, located directly across the street. Entrances are on Buick Street and Harry Agganis Way. Conductor Nick Palmer and Atlantic Symphony Orchestra musicians bring favorite stories and fairy tales to life through music in this first of three Evenings Under the Stars concerts at South Shore Conservatory. “Harry Potter” films, alongside magical favorites from “Hook,” “E.T.,” and classical fairy-tale masterpieces such as “Swan Lake” and “The Magic Flute.”
This immersive concert is fun for all ages. Audiences are encouraged to dress in their enchanted wizard robes to experience wonderment as SSC transforms its Hingham campus into Hogwarts. Enjoy large woodblock prints in a solo exhibition by Artist Madeleine Lord in the Concert Hall, inspired by instruments and the musicians that play them. Madeleine Lord is a multidisciplinary artist whose oeuvre includes drawing, painting, woodcut prints, monoprints, photography, and animation as well as metal sculpture.
Madeleine majored in art at Smith College, where Leonard Baskin taught print making and Professor Elliot Offner stated if you can’t draw you can’t make art. Her career has spanned decades; her first public work “Revolutionary Figures” was installed at Fort Washington Park, Cambridge, MA in 1987.

Artist Daniel Lloyd-Miller is a painter of two faces: toying with motifs of structure in-studio, and representational plein-air paintings outside.
Originally from Vermont, he attended MassArt for his bachelor’s degree in fine art and School of the Art Insitute of Chicago (SAIC) for his graduate studies. He has exhibited across multiple states in various solo and group shows and currently operates out of Somerville, painting and teaching at Middlesex Community College and Rhode Island School of Design Continuing Education.

About Sweet Harmony
Founded in 2021, Sweet Harmony is a local Scituate / Boston‑area acoustic band blending family roots, powerful vocals, and vibrant musicianship into a signature coastal sound. What began as a spontaneous father‑daughter duet between Caitlin and Robert Bruscino soon expanded to include vocalist Maggie Murray and percussionist Cooper Prophet, forming a dynamic quartet that bridges generations and styles.
Performing throughout Massachusetts and South Florida, Sweet Harmony seamlessly weaves Classic Rock, Pop, Country, Folk, Alternative, and Celtic influences into every set. Their hallmark is the rich vocal interplay of Caitlin and Maggie, paired with Robert’s rhythmic guitar and Cooper’s driving percussion—creating a sound that’s heartfelt, polished, and full of energy.
Each member brings impressive musicianship to the stage: Caitlin studies Choral Music Education at the University of Florida; Maggie, a Vocal Performance and Music Education major at UConn, lends depth and artistry; Cooper, a percussionist and film student at Keene State, supplies rhythmic creativity; and Robert, a seasoned guitarist and vocalist, anchors the group’s sound.

About the Satuit Band
Founded in 1933, active for more than nine decades, the Satuit Band is a community symphonic concert band, based in Scituate, Massachusetts, dedicated to enriching the cultural and musical life of Boston’s South Shore. The ensemble serves as an artistic home for student and adult non-professional instrumentalists, providing opportunities to continue performing in a high-quality, organized ensemble beyond high school or college.
The Satuit Band’s mission is to foster musical excellence, community engagement, and lifelong learning through the performance of diverse and engaging symphonic band repertoire, under the leadership of Charles A Shaffer, music director. Each summer, the Band presents an average of 14 free public concerts throughout the South Shore, including Scituate, Hull, Hingham, Cohasset, Norwell, and surrounding communities, reaching thousands of residents and visitors annually. Over the decades, the Satuit Band has entertained and inspired hundreds of thousands of patrons and remains a cherished cultural tradition in the region.
The instrumental ensemble numbers between 60 to 100 members of all teen and adult ages annually, serving as a living bridge between generations, offering a rare stage where students perform shoulder-to-shoulder with seasoned adult musicians. Through mentorship and performance, students gain confidence, technical skill, and exposure to professional ensemble standards — experiences that often inspire them to continue in music education or community arts.

About Author Andrew Botieri
After more than 35 years as a successful entrepreneur and business leader, Andrew Botieri has transformed his lifelong passion for storytelling into a second career as an acclaimed author and inspirational speaker.
Andrew’s journey as an author began after a life-changing medical crisis. In 2000, he was diagnosed with the rare autoimmune disease Scleroderma, which led to kidney failure and his brush with death experience. Defying the odds, he recovered after a 28-hour coma — an event that inspired his first book, “A Celebration of Life: A Story of Hope, A Miracle & The Power of Attitude.” The memoir shares his extraordinary story of overcoming adversity, resilience, and the importance of maintaining balance in life.
His newest novel, “The Magical Espresso Machine,” marks a creative new chapter. Inspired by his deep Italian roots and his home in Plymouth, Massachusetts, this intergenerational love story connects two families across time and place — from pre–World War I Italy to present-day Massachusetts — through a touch of magic and enduring love.
