The original choral version of this piece was composed in 2013 for the Rockland High School Chamber Choir. It is based on a Kundalini Blessing that reads as follows: FAREWELL May the long time sun shine upon you; All love surround you; May the pure light within you Guide your way. After the COVID-19 virus started spreading across the world in the spring of 2020, Matt Harden started reworking the choral version for Wind Ensemble. He felt the message resonated even more profoundly as humanity tried to find a connection in a disconnected world. To him, it signifies the hope and perseverance of humanity even in the face of fear.
