April vacation dance program

McGRATHPR.com – South Shore Conservatory (SSC) has expanded its Dance Department programming, offering two introductory levels of Lyrical Jazz Workshop on Tuesday, April 20 at SSC’s Ellison Center for the Arts, 64 St. George Street, Duxbury.  Students may also join virtually.

“We love to offer students new, expressive styles of dance to relatable, contemporary music,” said dance instructor Catherine Piazza. “Lyrical jazz is a fusion style dance form, performed to music with lyrics, that blends elements of modern, jazz, contemporary dance, and ballet.”

Lyrical dance emphasizes displaying emotion in an abstract way. It’s a place for innovation, creativity and stylized movement.

Students aged 7-11 are invited to attend the 10 – 11:15 am session, while students aged 12-17 may attend the 11:30 am – 1:00 pm session.  Beginners are encouraged to attend.  With only nine students allowed in the rehearsal hall at one time, students may attend virtually. The workshop costs $25.
