One-hour sessions invite participants explore fun facts about music

McGRATHPR.com – South Shore Conservatory announces SSC Music Sampler, a new online lesson experience geared to provide adults the opportunity to learn about different facets of music from professional musicians.  The first four-week sessions start in mid-October.

With a number of sessions being offered throughout the fall semester, adults have a wide array of informative and fun music topics from which to choose, such as Intro to Piano.  The one-hour sessions are presented on Zoom by SSC’s renowned faculty of educator/performers. 

For music appreciators, The Joni Mitchell Songbook explores the music of the artist Rolling Stone called “one of the best songwriters ever,” and The Audible Encyclopedia takes songs we all love and helps us discover and build a playlist of similar tunes. For those interested in jazz, SSC Music Sampler offers sessions such as Jazz Repertoire, Jazz Improvisation, and Intro to Improv.

John Williams: Taking Music from the Stage to the Screen looks at Williams’ beloved movies scores and composing tricks and tools he uses to help bring movies to life. For singers, the sampler program offers a number of sessions including Sing for Joy and Well-being! and The Complete Singer – A Guide to Contemporary Singing In the Modern World. Adults interested in classical and chamber music may enjoy Pieces for Solo Bassoon by Underrepresented Composers.

SSC faculty members offering sessions throughout the first semester include Jeff Williams, Grant Randall, Paige Taylor, Emily Browder Melville, Meredith Borden, Joseph Scott, Kevin Scollins, Nick Biagini, Erika Van Pelt, Mary Cicconetti, Janet Underhill, Andrew Heath, and John Vanderpool.
