Executive Director, Rehearsal Manager positions open for application
McGRATHPR.com – South Shore Children’s Chorus (SSCC), the region’s training program for young singers, announces two new administrative positions now open for application, created to bolster management of its growing choral programs, held in Quincy and Sharon.
SSCC seeks an experienced, energetic part-time Executive Director (ED) with a passion for supporting music education. As the administrative leader of SSCC, the ED will provide leadership, vision and management of the organization’s business operations in support of its artistic mission. The ED is responsible for the administration, development and marketing of the choirs, working in tandem with Founding Artistic Director, Kirsten Oberoi, to bolster SSCC’s rapid growth and implement the long-term vision for the organization. Applicants should have a connection and passion for the South Shore arts community and anticipate presence at All-Together Rehearsals once per month, SSCC concerts and other events. The likelihood of this position’s expansion to full-time may occur as budget allows. Applications are due no later than February 20.

SSCC also seeks qualified applicants for immediate opening(s) for Rehearsal Manager(s)(RMs), who will be responsible for setting up and breaking down SSCC rehearsals. RMs arrive early to rehearsals, and ensure that SSCC Directors are appropriately prepared with rehearsal materials. RMs check students in and out of rehearsal, making calls to families of students absent without notification and under emergency circumstances. RMs interact with parents and students, ensuring communication of critical program information and events. This part-time position involves three weeknight leveled chorus rehearsals. SSCC may hire multiple Rehearsal Managers should schedule availability determine the need. Applications are due no later than February 15.
SSCC is a community-based choral program comprised of more than 80 singers currently representing 17 local communities. Founded in 2016, SSCC provides musical education and vocal training to students living on Boston’s South Shore and beyond. SSCC reveres the development and well-being of its students as its top priority, aiming to create a safe space and loving community for choristers to learn, grow, and to find their own voice.
