McGRATHPR.com – Americana Theatre Company’s (ATC) Studio Americana youth performing arts summer camps and performances are now open for registration, held at Spire Center for Performing Arts, 25 ½ Court Street, Plymouth.
From July 8 through 12, 9 am to 5 pm, Elementary Summer Camp inspires students ages 5 through 12 to discover the magic of the stage, learning stage presence, confidence, and basic vocal technique. Auditions for a production Treasure Island will be held on the first day. The morning session (9 am to 12 noon), engages students in building performing skills through a series of exercises and games. The afternoon session (1 to 5 pm) focuses students on rehearsing for the camp-culminating Treasure Island performance on Saturday, July 13 at 2 pm.
From July 15 through 26, 9 am to 5 pm, Middle/High School Summer Performance Camp features students ages 12 through 18 preparing for and performing a production of Footloose on the stage. Working with the complete artistic direction team, students create their own exciting musical theater production from the ground up! Footloose performs on Saturday, July 27, 2 pm.
Tuition for ATC’s Studio Americana summer camp is $250 for elementary students, $300 for middle and high school students. Attendees arrive with their own brown bag lunch each day of camp. The performances are open to the public, tickets for Treasure Island are $10 for adults, $5 for students; tickets for Footloose are $15 for adults, $10 for students,available at the door.
Studio Americana’s mission is to develop talent, inspire creativity, and prepare students to activate their dreams. They offer premiere training in theatre and musical theatre for students at affordable rates.
