Performathon 2020 is a mix of music and charity.
WICKEDLOCAL.com – Students and faculty at South Shore Conservatory will present four days of performances to raise money for the conservatory’s tuition assistance program at Performathon 2020, which runs April 2 to 5 at Barnes & Noble in Hingham.
The event, consisting of hour-long voice, instrumental and drama performances, gives students the chance to hone their performing skills as they raise money for the conservatory’s scholarship fund by obtaining and collecting sponsor pledges.
Last year more than 325 conservatory students performed and they raised more than $25,000. This year the Wallace M. Leonard Foundation will match donations up to $25,000.
People can lend their support by sponsoring a Performathon participant or by making purchases at the Barnes & Noble store on April 2-5, mentioning the South Shore Conservatory. A percentage of the sales will be donated back to the conservatory.
Barnes & Noble is at Derby Street Shoppes, 96 Derby St. Hingham. For more information go to sscmusic.org or send an email to Sarah Troxler at s.troxler@sscmusic.org.
