South Shore Conservatory’s “Evenings Under the Stars 2026” celebrates the rich traditions that have shaped our culture and imagination – bringing to life the enduring art of storytelling, the spirit of American history, and the beloved music of the Great American Songbook.

Harry Potter: A Night of Symphonic Magic

Saturday, July 11, 7 pm

Conductor Nick Palmer and Atlantic Symphony Orchestra musicians bring favorite stories and fairy tales to life through music in this first of three Evenings Under the Stars concerts at South Shore Conservatory.

“Harry Potter” films, alongside magical favorites from “Hook,” “E.T.,” and classical fairy-tale masterpieces such as “Swan Lake” and “The Magic Flute.”  This immersive concert is fun for all ages. Audiences are encouraged to dress in their enchanted wizard robes to experience wonderment as SSC transforms its Hingham campus into Hogwarts.  One hour prior to the concert, there are family-friendly activities on the grounds, as well as food offerings available from Mom on the Go. 


American Landscapes:  250 Years of Song

Artistic Director Bill Richter and the Pilgrim Festival Chorus, one of the South Shore’s premier choruses, celebrate America’s rich musical heritage in honor of the nation’s 250th birthday in this second of three “Evenings Under the Stars” concerts at South Shore Conservatory. This powerful concert traces the soundscape of America through song – from stirring anthems to reflective works inspired by the American experience. This performance offers a moving tribute to the voices, stories, and landscapes that have shaped our country over the past 250 years. 


Sinatra Under the Stars

Sixteen-piece A Swingin’ Affair big band, with Artistic Director Steve Bass and “Ol’ Blue Eyes” vocalist Donnie Norton, rocks the Carr Amphitheater with an unforgettable night of music from the Great American Songbook, featuring favorites from Rat Pack era crooners such as Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, and Dean Martin.  This swingin’ evening, the final of three South Shore Conservatory “Evenings Under the Stars” concerts, also welcomes guest vocalist Sarah Bass, singing selections from the Ella Fitzgerald songbook.
