Americana Theatre Company’s Murder on the Orient Express

July 5 - July 21

By Agatha Christie, adapted by Ken Ludwig

Spire Center for the Performing Arts

Friday, July 5 through Sunday, July 21 Fridays and Saturdays, 7 pm; Sundays, 2 pm

Slated as a “fast-moving, powerful theatrical locomotive” by the Hartford Courant, Americana Theatre’s production of this classic thriller is bound to scintillate your summer.  Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks, as it travels from Istanbul to Western Europe. The luxurious train is surprisingly full for occupancy in 1934, but by the next morning, it has one fewer passenger. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed eight times, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, the passengers rely on detective Hercule Poirot to identify the murderer – in case he or she decides to strike again.
