McGRATHPR.com – Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra (CCCO), the Cape’s professional collaborative orchestra, debuts its new Sandbar Chamber Series with “Schubert’s Quintet,” a chamber ensemble concert, on Sunday, November 20, 3 pm, at Yarmouth New Church’s Thacher Hall, 266 Main St., Yarmouth Port.

“We are excited to put all the delays the pandemic caused behind us and finally launch our new chamber series this season” shares CCCO Music Director Matthew Scinto.  “Part of our goal with the chamber series is to branch out and explore new collaborations around Cape Cod. Performing at the historic New Church fulfills that ambition.”  A facet of CCCO’s Season Five, the Sandbar Chamber Series features new soloists, new music and hallmark performances in multiple venues around Cape Cod.

The Sandbar Chamber Series premiere concert “Schubert’s Quintet” features music of Antonin Dvorak and Schubert’s masterful Cello Quintet. “We’ve all heard of Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, but Franz Schubert often gets lost in the mix of things. The reality is Schubert is one of the greatest musical geniuses to have ever lived, composing over 600 songs, dozens of chamber pieces, nine symphonies, piano works, and more before dying at the young age of 31. The Cello Quintet was in fact written just two months before the composer’s death in 1828. It is as “mature” as Schubert gets”, says Scinto.

CCCO prides itself on exceptional programming and its collaborative performances, a highlight of every season.  Season Five features four full-orchestra main concerts and three small ensemble performances, launched with this new Sandbar Chamber Series.

Committed to artistic integrity and excellence, Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra’s mission is to connect the diverse arts communities and individuals of Cape Cod inclusively.
