McGRATHPR.com – Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival (CCCMF), Cape Cod’s foremost summer chamber music presenter since 1979, previews its 44th annual season with a “New York Benefit Concert” on Tuesday, March 28, 5:30 pm, in the Grand Gallery of the historic National Arts Club, 15 Gramercy Park South, New York.
Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival’s “New York Benefit Concert” features Artistic Directors Jon Manasse, clarinet and Jon Nakamatsu, piano, joined by guest violinist Kobi Malkin, presenting a rich and varied program of music by Milhaud, Von Weber, and Bartók. Expressing their excitement about the season ahead, CCCMF’s Artistic Directors Manasse and Nakamatsu state that they “are thrilled to be opening our 44th season here in New York, a great segue into an August filled with music on Cape Cod that includes a newly commissioned piece, and performances by the Emerson, Danish, and Isidore String Quartets, along with other captivating programs.”
Tickets to CCCMF’s “New York Benefit Concert” are $100 per person at the sponsor level, or $150 per person at the patron level, available at easy-ware-forms.com/capecodchambermusic/benefit. About the Performing Artists
Jon Manasse, clarinet
Among the most distinguished classical artists of his generation, clarinetist Jon Manasse is internationally recognized for his inspiring artistry, uniquely glorious sound and charismatic performing style. As well as serving on the faculties of The Juilliard School, The Lynn Conservatory and the Mannes School of Music, Manasse is principal clarinetist of the American Ballet Theater Orchestra, the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s.
Jon Nakamatsu, piano
Since winning the Gold Medal at the 1997 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, Jon Nakamatsu tours year-round, working with many of today’s leading conductors and orchestras, and appears in recital and chamber collaborations at festivals and music centers world-wide. Nakamatsu is on the faculty of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and is Artist-in-Residence of the Chautauqua Institution Piano Program.
Manasse/Nakamatsu Duo
Comprised of clarinetist Jon Manasse and pianist Jon Nakamatsu, two of America’s most distinguished artists, the Manasse/Nakamatsu Duo immediately established itself with a highly acclaimed 2004 performance in Boston. Subsequent coast-to-coast touring featured appearances on many of the country’s most prestigious series. Recent appearances abroad include the Duo’s first performances in Cuba in 2017. Since 2006, the Duo has served as Artistic Directors of the renowned Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival, which celebrates 44 years of extraordinary concerts in its August 2023 season.
Kobi Malkin, violin
Award winning Israeli violinist Kobi Malkin is making his mark as both as an exciting soloist and a perceptive chamber musician. He was praised by The New York Times for his “aptly traversed palette of emotions, from languid introspection to fevered intensity with gorgeous tone and an edge-of-seat intensity”. Having performed at numerous Festivals, Malkin is also frequently invited as a guest concertmaster with such orchestras as the American Symphony Orchestra, and the American Ballet Theatre Orchestra. Malkin is an alumnus of the Carnegie Hall/Juilliard Ensemble Connect program. He holds a Master of Music degree from the Juilliard School, where he studied with Sylvia Rosenberg and Donald Weilerstein, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the New England Conservatory, where he worked under the guidance of Miriam Fried.
