WICKED LOCAL.com – Pilgrim Festival Chorus, a non-profit community chorus, will hold two performances in Plymouth and Scituate next month as the group celebrates its 20th anniversary.
The group will perform Mozart’s Requiem and a setting of England’s Poet Laureate John Dryden’s poem, A Song for St. Cecilia’s Day, by Massachusetts composer Clifton J. Noble. The concerts will feature a 20-piece professional orchestra and four professional soloists along with the around 80 members of the Pilgrim Festival Chorus. The Scituate performance will be a collaboration with Scituate High School’s Select Choir. The high school choir includes nearly 60 students who have done an in-depth study of Mozart’s Requiem, considered one of his masterpieces, as part of their school curriculum.
The first performance will be at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 27 at St. Bonaventure Parish, 803 State Road, Rte. 3A, Plymouth. The second will be at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, at Scituate Center for the Performing Arts, 606 Chief Cushing Highway, Rte. 3A, Scituate. Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for senior citizens, $15 for students over 14, and free for children under 14. Discounted tickets are available for Scituate families through online advance purchase.
