Summer “Clue” production kicks off celebration in Plymouth in July
McGRATHPR.com – Americana Theatre Company (ATC), Plymouth’s professional theatre company launches its 10th anniversary season presenting the iconic madcap comedy “Clue”, playing Thursdays through Sundays from July 8 through 25, at Spire Center for Performing Arts, 25 ½ Court Street, Plymouth. Clue is adapted from the screenplay by Jonathan Lynn, with additional materials by Hunter Foster, Eric Price and Sandy Rustin, adapted from the Paramount Pictures film, inspired by the Hasbro, Inc. board game. The production is directed by Eric Harrell, with stage management by Ciera Miller, set design by Derek Martin and lighting design by Heather M. Crocker.

In “Clue”, it’s a dark and stormy night, and you’ve been invited to a very unusual dinner party. Each of the guests has an alias, the butler offers a variety of weapons, and the host is, well . . . dead. So whodunnit? Join the iconic oddballs known as Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Peacock and Colonel Mustard as they race to find the murderer in Boddy Manor before the body count stacks up. Based on the cult classic film and the popular board game, this madcap comedy that will keep you guessing until the final twist!
“Clue” features ATC company members Derek Martin as Wadsworth, David Friday as Colonel Mustard, Erin Friday as Mrs. Peacock, Payton Gobeille as Mrs. White, Jesse Sullivan as Professor Plum, and Jennifer Martin as Miss Scarlet. ATC welcomes guest performers Sydney Schultis as Yvette, Bridgette Kinsella as Cook/Singing Telegram and Ricardo Foster as Mr. Boddy.
“I can’t think of a better way to lift the spirits of our community who have endured so courageously through the challenges of the past year. Because our 10th year is also the 400th celebration of Plymouth, we wanted to pull make a local connection. The Clue board game was conceptualized by Parker Brothers when they heard about a unique murder that took place in Salem, Massachusetts and the rest of the story is history. I hope families get a chance to sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!” The second production in ATC’s celebratory season is a new spin on their biennial radio play production – this year “A Christmas Carol – A Live Radio Play” in December, a first for the company, postponed from last season due to the pandemic.
Tickets for “Clue” are $35 for adults, $30 for students and seniors. Evening performances begin at 7 pm or 8 pm, The final performance is a Sunday matinee, held at 3 pm.
