Students Helping Students through performance
McGRATHPR.com – South Shore Conservatory (SSC) announces Performathon 2021, Friday, May 14 through Sunday, May 16. SSC students have the flexibility to perform either in-person on-campus or virtually. Audiences can watch via a live stream that will happen on both Facebook and SSC’s website.
A marathon performance that takes place over the course of several days, SSC’s Performathon is a community fundraising event designed to engage students, families, and faculty in raising money to support the SSC Fund, which in turn supports funding for the robust student experience at SSC. It is an opportunity for students to help other students, working together to ensure that everyone across the South Shore has access to SSC’s exceptional arts education and performance programs.
“We are very excited to present Performathon 2021,” said SSC President Robert Cinnante. “While our format of delivery is different from previous years, the essence of this event remains the same. It is about students giving back to students, marrying performance and philanthropy, in support of the SSC Fund, which provides for important student and family initiatives, including but not limited to tuition assistance.”
Performances are varied, featuring an array of instruments, age groups, solo and ensemble repertoire. The schedule as it currently stands is as follows:
Friday, May 14: 6 – 8 pm
Saturday, May 15: 10 am – 5 pm
Sunday, May 16: 12 – 2 pm, 3 – 5 pm
Where safety is SSC’s top priority, masks, social distancing and handwashing and sanitation protocols will be followed for all students performing in-person. All SSC activities follow the recommended guidelines of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the Office of the Governor, the CDC, and the Hingham and Duxbury Boards of Health.
Audience members, parents and friends of SSC are encouraged to lend their support by sponsoring a Performathon participant. Donations and pledges may be made online at sscmusic.org/Performathon.
