Deertrees Theatre to kick off a busy season in June

Along with hosting music and theater, the historic landmark in Harrison will be giving tours and showing art.

PORTLAND PRESS HERALD – Deertrees Theatre in Harrison has been presenting plays and other entertainment since 1936.

The 2024 season kicks off with a reception June 15 honoring Deertrees Art Gallery’s local exhibiting artists. There will be food, drinks and live music from saxophonist Dan Fox and pianist Gail Phaneuf.

The play “On Golden Pond” opens the weekend of June 28.

The 88th season includes theatrical works, live music on the main stage, and the theater’s Salt Lick Cabaret. New this year are tours of the National Historic Landmark theater.

Other schedule highlights include Tartan Terrors from July 5-7, Tacos and Trivia on July 9, and the Sebago Long Lake Music Festival, which starts July 16 and runs through Aug. 13.
