CCS concerts showcase the diverse talents of the Conservatory’s faculty of nearly 100 educator/performers. The price of admission is minimal, at $5 per person, and students are admitted free. Making these concerts affordable reinforces SSC’s mission of expanding access to arts education and performance. All concerts are on Sunday at 4 pm, and include a reception where audience members are invited to meet the performers.

The CCS season kicks off on with SSC Debuts, featuring SSC’s newest faculty members performing the music they most love to play. Performers include soprano Laura Swartz, jazz pianist Jeff Williams, oboist Mary Cicconetti, classical pianist Victoria Suchodolski, and tenor Jason Dyer.  Joining the performers, is guest pianist Leah Kosch.  The concert’s repertoire is as varied as a Mozart piano sonata and Benjamin Britten’s Cabaret Songs.

On December 9, CCS gets into the festive spirit with Holiday Favorites. The concert, at SSC’s Hingham campus, features an eclectic mixture of seasonal songs. Performers include pianist Sarah Troxler, singers Emily Browder Melville and Holly Jennings, percussionist Jesse Stiglich, and flutist Donald Zook.

The final concert of the series, Early American Music, features early American colonial music in dialogue with John Cage’s “44 Harmonies,” on Sunday, February 24, 4 pm at SSC’s Ellison Center for the Arts, 64 St. George Street in Duxbury.  This performance features a faculty string quartet, playing a combination of period and modern instruments, comprised of SSC violinists Daphne Manavopoulos and Emily Hale, SSC cellist Benjamin Swartz, and guest artist, violist Lauren Nelson.
