The James Library & Center for the Arts Presents a Valentine’s Desserts Party

Facebooktwittergoogle_pluspinterestlinkedinmailFacebooktwittergoogle_pluspinterestlinkedinmail – The James Library & Center for the Arts, Norwell’s historic community arts center and lending library, presents a Valentine’s Desserts Party on Friday, February 9, 7:30 pm to 10 pm, 24 West Street, Norwell.  The benefit fundraiser features confections, spirits and entertainment from businesses and musicians from across the South Shore, while raising funds for The James’ annual fund, which supports its mission of  inspiring creativity, learning and an appreciation for the arts through music, visual, and literary programs. The evening is sponsored by Jennifer and Mark McGreenery.

An evening of decadence, the Valentine’s Desserts Party showcases “boutique” bakers and confectioners noted across the region for their elegant presentations of fine quality desserts featuring the latest in gourmet sweet trends.  Guests will enjoy mingling with friends over a vast array of delectable treats, fine wines, craft beer and smooth jazz. Attendees will also have the chance to win desserts for a year, flowers for a year, and wine for a year, among other great items! Step into the nostalgic sweetheart photo booth to capture a memory of your night. This is a perfect opportunity to embrace an evening of romance with your Valentine!

Premier gourmet sweets are provided by The Chef’s Table, Cooking with Abby, French Memories, Fresh Market Hingham, Hola, Hornstra Farms, Kappy’s Fine Wine & Spirits, Kiss Flower Farm, Leena’s Kitchen, Rosa Farms, Sadie Mae’s Cupcake Café and Whole Foods Market Hingham.

Live entertainment is provided by Pianist Dona Maher, Pianist Alex Gordon, Violinist Stephen Davis and Pianist Kristin McCarthy of Norwell High School.

About the James Library & Center for the Arts

Since 1874, The James Library has served the South Shore community as a warm gathering place.  Housed in a landmark Victorian in historical Norwell Center, The James is dedicated to serving the community by providing high-quality programs, resources and materials through a concert hall, art gallery and the operation of a free lending library. As an independent, non-profit arts center we foster a mission for the creation, appreciation and enjoyment of the arts for residents of all ages on the South Shore, while preserving the historic character of our home.  The James Library is located at 24 West Street, Norwell and is open to the public Tuesday and Wednesday from 1 to 5 pm, Thursday and Friday from 12 to 5 pm, and on Saturday from 10 to 2 pm.
