South Shore Conservatory’s (SSC) Duxbury Music Festival (DMF) presents a Winners Concert and Farewell Reception on Friday, July 28, 7 pm at SSC’s Ellison Center for the Arts, 64 St. George Street in Duxbury. The event is sponsored by Diane and Sherman Hoyt.
This final DMF concert features Duxbury Music Festival students showcasing their winning performances from the 2017 Solo, Concerto, and Chamber Competitions. First, second, and third prize winners from the Solo and Chamber Competitions perform. Additionally, the first prize winner of the Concerto Competition performs, and is invited to perform as a soloist with the DMF orchestra at their opening concert the following season.
A Farewell Reception immediately following the Winners Concert, featuring a wine tasting sponsored by Duxbury Wine & Spirits.
Widely embraced by the South Shore community with over 200 volunteers and over 2500 patrons each season, Duxbury Music Festival’s celebrated, intensive chamber music program brings together world-renowned pedagogues and performers with aspiring young artists each summer, providing daily offerings of chamber music, student recitals, festival competitions, family events and faculty concerts.
